Legacy Online School uses assignment grades/scores/rubrics, narrative evaluations, and

direct teacher to parent/student communication to describe a student's academic

progress. We provide detailed academic progress reports to parents and students at

regular intervals throughout the school year. These reports are issued on a weekly and

semestral, or on a personalized schedule. The reports offer insights into a student's

strengths, areas for improvement, and overall progress. Additionally, teachers are readily

available for parent-teacher conferences to discuss individual student performance and

address any concerns or questions. That is why parents are welcome and encouraged to

contact staff at any time to discuss their child's progress, but they can always check it

through LMS from an ‘observer/parent/guardian’ account, where they can view grades,

attendance records, and teacher feedback in real-time. A live digital version of the

students progress is available on request.

Grading Policy

At Legacy Online School, we believe in fair and transparent grading practices that

accurately assess students' academic performance and provide valuable feedback on

their progress. Our grading policy is designed to promote a positive learning experience

and encourage continuous improvement. Here are the key components of our grading

policy:

Grading Scale:

We use a standard grading scale to evaluate students' performance in each subject. Thegrading scale typically includes letter grades (e.g., A, B, C, D, F) along with their

corresponding grade point values.

Weightage of Assignments and Assessments:

Each assignment, test, quiz, project, and other assessments carry a specific weightage

that contributes to the overall grade for a particular course. The weightage may vary

based on the significance and complexity of the task.

Homework and Class Participation:

Regular completion of homework assignments and active class participation are essential

components of a student's overall performance evaluation. These factors may also

contribute to the final grade.

Assessment of Mastery:

The grading policy at Legacy focuses on assessing students' mastery of the subject

matter rather than relying solely on one-time exams. We encourage multiple assessment

methods, such as quizzes, tests, essays, presentations, and projects, to provide a

comprehensive understanding of a student's skills and knowledge.

Rubrics for Assessment:

To ensure transparency and consistency in grading, we use rubrics for various

assignments and assessments. Rubrics outline specific criteria and expectations, making

it easier for students to understand how their work will be evaluated.

Grade Reports and Progress Updates:

Parents/guardians and students receive regular grade reports and progress updates

through Buzz platform to keep them informed about academic performance. These

reports serve as a valuable tool for identifying strengths and areas for improvement.
